Compact, with high dynamics

The FR-E500 series have a wide range of use and can be used in a multitude of applications. Material handling, screw conveyors, the textile industry, lifts, pumps and fans to name but a few.

Built-in functions for managing heavy starting and lowering of loads make these frequency inverters suitable for many operational situations. Since they can also be used to control pumps and fans, they are virtually “All-round” frequency inverters.

Power range:

  • 230V: 0.4 - 2.5kW

Elegant handling of heavy starts
The frequency inverter measures the motor data without running the motor, and stores this information for perfect adaptation and performance.
Communications and networking
The frequency inverter can be controlled via an RS485 interface or via network solutions such as Profibus, DeviceNet and CC-Link.
Lifts and quick stopping
The FR-E500 has built-in brake transistors that are connected to an external braking resistance to burn off excess energy.

Elegant handling of heavy starts

The frequency inverter measures the motor data without running the motor, and stores this information for perfect adaptation and performance. Operations involving heavy masses or large and variable basic torques are controlled down to a frequency of 1 Hz.

Brute strength at the instant of starting is attained by combining slip compensation with vector operation. This also provides an equivalent amount of power when braking. This type of frequency inverter is particularly well suited to positioning, thanks to its good control characteristics and fast processors.

Lifts and quick stopping

Energy is generated in lifts and when lowering loads. The same applies when the movement of heavy masses is suddenly stopped. This surplus energy must be taken care of. The FR-E500 has built-in brake transistors that are connected to an external braking resistance to burn off excess energy. The motor can thereby be retarded quickly, thus saving time. Dynamic braking with d.c. applied to two of the motor windings gives extra braking torque when stopping.

Communications and networking

The frequency inverter can be controlled via an RS485 interface or via standard network solutions such as Profibus, DeviceNet and CC-Link.

Beijer Electronics can offer network solutions for Mitsubishi PLCs with associated operator terminal applications. For each project there is a Get started document that describes installation, connections and user possibilities for the different programmed modules.
